Why "Living Abundantly"?

January 08, 20242 min read

Many of you may be wondering why I would name my business "Living Abundantly". What does that even mean? Two years ago, I would likely have been asking that question, as abundance was not a common term I used. Honestly, it took a series of rough life experiences for me to understand what it means to live in abundance.

I had always believed that I was a "cup half full" kind of gal, but the reality is that I lived my life from a scarcity perspective or mindset. What does that mean? When we live in scarcity, we live in fear of there never being enough. It believes that one person's success is at the expense of everyone else's. It is characterized by feelings of overwhelm, envy, guilt and even anger. It is the basis of competition. I need to win because if someone else wins, I lose. As the challenges hit, I started spiraling into depression and hopelessness. It was hard to see the opportunities and blessings all around me.

During that time, I was surrounded by a number of people who were talking about living in abundance rather than in scarcity. My thoughts immediately went to financial success. While finances can be a part of abundance, I grew to understand there was so much more to it.

The perspective of abundance is that there will always be more. It sees all of the opportunities in life. It is based in gratitude. Someone living in abundance is excited, motivated, and ready for action. It frees our creativity, and cooperation because together we can accomplish more than I can by myself.

As I learned to live in gratitude for everything, big and small, I began to understand I can be grateful in all circumstances. It became my way through the challenges rather than keeping me stuck in the "why is this happening to me." Since this business is all about helping people who are feeling stuck or lacking purpose in life during life transitions, it seemed only natural to incorporate what I had learned about the importance of "Living Abundantly."

Once again welcome to this adventure of living abundantly!

Blessings,

Lorraine
